As part of our ongoing engagement providing planning consultancy services to Powdermills Hotel operated by Crafted, we were asked to secure a Certificate of Lawfulness for off-grid cabins in a remote and quiet field north of the lake.
Utilising a little known or used part of the deepest, darkest depths of the General Permitted Development Order (Class A, Part 5, Schedule 2), and through a collaboration between the hotel and Wilded Club (who benefit from a Certificate of Exemption), we were able to demonstrate that no planning permission was required for the siting of 5 off-grid cabins. The cabins are designed by Black Pines Ltd, and essentially comprise of shepherd hut style trailers, that can be sited self-sufficiently off-grid.
The introduction of these off-grid cabins provides an alternative form of overnight stay accommodation for those guests wishing to fully immerse themselves in the beautiful nature around the Powdermills Hotel.
We were also pleased to receive planning permission this week for a further 5 x suites located immediately adjacent to the lake. All of these lakeside suites, designed by Blue Forest (UK) Ltd, provide ample accommodation inside, all the mod-cons, and are afforded a balcony with stunning views over the lake.
